Surrounded by 7,000 hectares of private concession, Mkulumadzi, which is owned and operated by Robin Pope Safaris, is set in a stunning location at the confluence of the Shire and Mkulumadzi Rivers shaded by giant leadwood trees. Reached by a swing bridge this lodge offers true luxury in the bush with great food and service. With incredible views over the Shire River and the constant sound of flowing water, visitors are given a very special experience and insight into this newly developed park. Visitors can join in the excitement of seeing increasing numbers of its Big Five Game. Activities can be enjoyed in 4 x 4 vehicles, on foot or on river cruises.
Location: In the Majete Wildlife Reserve, a 2 hour scenic road transfer from Blantyre, 4 – 5 hour road transfer from Lilongwe, or 1 hour and 15 minute light aircraft flight to Nchalo Airstrip – and then a road transfer of 45 minutes to the lodge. Guests arrive by a footbridge suspended over the Mkulumadzi River to discover a friendly welcome and many home comforts.
