Watch this space for further information on this new Robin Pope Safaris camp. Designed by Neil Rocher, Miyala (meaning “rocks/stones” in the local Chichewa language) promises to be as special as their other camps in Malawi and Zambia.
Location: Miyala is in Southern end of Liwonde National Park overlooking the Chikalogwe Plain of the Shire River at the base of Chiunguni Hill. 4 – 5 hour road transfer from Lilongwe,
2.5 hour road transfer from Blantyre. Scheduled flights from Lilongwe available 3 times a week.
Number Rooms: 4 tents overlooking the Chikalogwe Plain of the Shire River (2 twin, 1 king, 1 family
Room Features: hardwood floors and decks, simplistic canvas roofs, en-suite bathrooms with double basins, bath, and outdoor shower, ‘evening breeze’ air-conditioning units designed to cool the air within your mosquito net and not the entire room
Power Source: solar power with back up generator
Activities: game drives, boating safaris, walking safaris, hiking
Child Policy: children of all ages are welcome
Season: open all year
