During the green season closure Lion Camp completed their “Round House” deck.  These small rondavels were built during the 60’s as scout accommodation and were then used as guides accommodation.  They have now been restored and house the camp’s shop, photographic studio, wildlife reading room and a small gym facility.  They are linked together with a deck under the canopy of trees and offer a private tranquil area away from the activities of the main lodge.  This is a “no children” zone to ensure quiet and relaxation.

The lodge have also done some upgrades in their suites following on from guest feedback last season.  The split-level floors have been leveled; better reading lights installed as well as a shaving mirror in the bathrooms. Lion Camp also now offers guests a water level viewing hide to enable photography of game while drinking and playing in the mud right in front of our main lodge.

The camp also now has an off-site boma. Set amongst a grove of trees offering a natural “boma” ensuring a relaxed and safe bush communal dining experience, hosted by our guides. Sip some bubbles around the fire before being seated for their scrumptious African delicacies such as African Peanuts Soup with Chitumbuwa, Lamb Tagine, skewers off the flames, boerewors,  our famous three beans salad with a chilli spin and many more yummy choices to ensure a memorable dinner in the bush!

Lion Camp is located in one of the best locations within the South Luangwa National Park and offers a Stay 4 Pay 3 deal for bookings throughout the year.
