Tafika Camp, located in South Luangwa, is the Remote Africa Safaris base camp. Here exceptional game viewing is combined with exciting activities – including daily microlight flights, mountain bike safaris, game drives, walking safaris and visits to the Mkasanga Village. Remote Africa Safaris is one of the few owner run operations left in the Luangwa Valley, run by John and Carol Coppinger and their daughter Jenny. John operates the micolight flights and also still conducts many of the activities, and with his in depth knowledge of the Luangwa Valley this makes for an incredible experience
Accommodation at Tafika Camp consists of six comfortable and spacious en-suite chalets, each with its own romantic outdoor shower, situated beneath giant lead wood trees. The chalets are typical bush style accommodation – made of thatch and reed with simple but comfortable furnishings.
Food in the camp is delicious with many of the vegetables being home grown in the camp vegetable garden.
We have rated Tafika with 5 hands as even though the product is quite simple, the very personal service, fantastic guiding, excellent food and location make it one of the top camps in South Luangwa.
