Shenton Safaris is owner run by Derek Shenton and his wife Jules. Derek represents the third generation of his family to work in the field of safari guiding and wildlife conservation. A natural guide, he has a particular interest in tracking and observing the big cats. Passionate about providing his guests with the ultimate safari experience, Derek’s camps and network of photographic hides are continually evolving to suit the needs of his clients. A wide range of activities are offered out of the camps ranging from game drives, walking safaris, night drives to photographic hide trips. With a strong focus on the wildlife experience, Shenton offer three, rather than the standard two, activities per day. For the more adventurous travellers sleep-outs in their Elephant Hide tree-platform as well as fly-camping under the stars are offered.
Location: Overlooking the Luangwa River deep within the prime area of the South Luangwa National Park, 3 hours from Mfuwe airport.
Number Rooms: 6 chalets (2 of which are Honeymoon Chalets)
Room Features: each of the 6 chalets has an en suite bathroom as well as a bath tub outdoors

Other Camp Features: unique individual decks built out over the river in front of each chalet, two Hides (elephant and hippo hide) making this a popular camp with photographers
Activities: At Kaingo you will be offered 3 separate game-viewing activities a day which may include walking safaris, game drives or time spent at a hide or blind (normally during midday). Particular emphasis on photographic safaris.
Child Policy: No children under 4. Children between 4 & 8 are accepted on a case by case basis. Children 10 and above are accepted as normal guests
