Sausage Tree camp offers a great bush experience in a luxurious setting with lavish attention to detail. Set in a stunning location on the banks of the Zambezi River in the heart of the Lower Zambezi National Park in a great game viewing area, the camp overlooks an expanse of narrow channels and low set reed islands teeming with game, with the magnificent Zambezi escarpment as the backdrop.
Accommodation consists of unique Bedouin-style white canvas tents furnished in luxurious fabrics and Zambian Teak. The open air bathrooms and expansive Teak decks with Zambezi River views are a signature of the camp. The suites offer an even more luxurious and spacious accommodation with their own individual plunge pools, such that you are torn between wanting to spend your safari in your room! Each Tent comes with its own private butler who looks after you from morning tea or coffee to walking you back to your room at night.
A superb African fusion cuisine is offered in surprising locations with white linen and atmospheric candlelight. When I stayed there I was treated to a fantastic lunch set up in the Zambezi River. What bliss to sit under a white tent with my feet in the sandy and cool water, drinking a pims cocktail and enjoying an amazing lunch all cooked on site by their specialized catering team! My only complaint about my stay at Sausage Tree – not enough time to enjoy my amazing tent! Definitely have to return for longer!
