Wasa is ideally suited for visiting the hide at Fibwe and has a great setting with puku, hippo and sometimes even sitatunga visible from the lodge. A basic but comfortable lodge and a good base from which to explore this unique and special Park.
Location: Wasa Lodge lies on the edge of Lake Wasa in the eastern half of Kasanka Park just 12 kms from the park entrance and the tarmac road. Approximately 5 – 6 hours drive from Lusaka on good tarred roads and a one hour thirty minute charter flight from Lusaka.
Number Rooms: 3 more spacious and 3 smaller chalets. 1 Family Chalet with 2 bedrooms and shared bathroom
Room Features: Doubles Beds and the larger chalets do also have space for a single bed and ensuite bathroom. The larger chalets have a private verandah. All the rooms, except the Family Unit overlook Lake Wasa . Rooms are very basic but comfortable.
Other Camp Features: Bar, Dining room, Reception, Gift Shop, Wildlife Viewing Platform and Verandah overlooking the lake.
Power Source: Solar Power. No charging facilities in the rooms but cameras and phones be charged in the Reception area
Activities: Game Drives, All day hiking, combined game drives and hiking, boating when the River is high enough, Canoeing. November and early December Hides for viewing of the Straw-coloured fruit bats and also for viewing of the rare Sitatunga antelope. Birding Day with Ornathologist available on request. Half day visit to the Conservation Centre – especially if travelling with children. This is just outside of the Park.
