A personal and intimate camp, set on a small palm tree island in the middle of the vast, Busanga Plains. The most northerly camp in the Kafue, it is open from mid July until the 1st week in November due to annual flooding. 4 well appointed luxury safari tents are nestled into the island and all face out onto the floodplain where Red Lechwe antelope can be seen from your bed. There is a main dining area, which is on a raised wooden deck with canvas roof. This looks out to the East, allowing for beautiful sun rises to be seen in the morning. A small fireplace is where the nights are spent warming up and telling stories. Lions visit almost daily. Mukambi Plains Camp can be booked in combination with Mukambi Safari Lodge. The transfer time between the 2 lodges is 6/7hours (a long game drive with a picnic breakfast or lunch).
