Robin Pope Safaris Opens Kuthengo Camp in Liwonde National Park
Robin Pope Safaris opened their new camp “Kuthengo” in Liwonde National Park in April this year. The bush camp, which is very intimate with only 4 rooms, is located along the Shire River. A combination of game drives, walking safaris, boating and hikes makes this an ideal destination for the safari goer wishing to experience the bush on a larger spectrum.
The National Park is virtually untouched so guests are guaranteed to have spectacular wildlife sightings. Since becoming involved in the park two years ago, African Parks have completely overhauled law enforcement and their impact can be seen with fish poaching being largely eliminated and more than 16,500 wire snares removed that would have maimed countless wildlife. Conservation efforts include the historical elephant translocation and the reintroduction of cheetah to the park to help restore this iconic wilderness, in order for the local communities to benefit from the parks existence and ultimately ensure the park’s survival.
Kuthengo is a great combo with Mkulumadzi in Majete National Park and Pumulani on the Southern Lakeshore. “Warm Heart of Malawi” is a fantastic package combining these three areas with very attractive discounts. Contact us for details of this and other packages for 2019.
