Building Progressing well at Lion Camp
The last two trucks packed with gum poles, tools, lights, furniture materials, fire pits for the new suites and safes for the rooms, soft furnishings and interiors have left South Africa and are heading to Lion Camp in South Luangwa Zambia. Plans are on track for the new camp to open on 25 May next year, staying true to their vision which is to provide exceptional and eco-friendly safaris at a reasonable price point.
The whole camp will be elevated as before, built with a sustainable decking timber. The rooms will be spaced further apart for more privacy, and will have canvas walls and a thatched roof. Evening Breeze cooling units will be installed over the beds for maximum comfort in the hotter months. These units, along with the rest of the camp, will be solar-powered. The bright acid colours of the soft furnishings will be replaced by a more muted colour palette.
